No More $1million? Zylofon Music & Rex Omar Issue Settled Amicably

Veteran Highlife musician, Rex Owusu Marfo, known in music circles as Rex Omar has settled amicably the pending copyright issue with entertainment conglomerate Zylofon Media.

Earlier, there were reports that the musician had threatened to sue the label over the use of lyrics from his song, Dea Ne Me on Obibini’s latest track, Gogo Woho.

Rex Omar, through his lawyers Poku Adusei & Associates of Oyikwan Chambers, had also given a 10-day ultimatum to Zylofon Media demanding an unspecified compensation believed to be worth $1milion.

However, EonlineGhana.Com can authoritatively confirm that the issue has been resolved amicably. EonlineGhana.Com has been informed that there were several meetings held between officials of Zylofon Music and Rex Omar which turned out to be fruitful in the end.

Uncle Rex as he is fondly called has even accepted to mentor artistes on the label, showing clearly that he holds no grudge against the label.

Earlier, he explained that he had no intention of bringing the name of the label into disrepute as many purported, however, as a Chairman of GHAMRO, it was to provide enlightenment on copyright-related matters.
